Consign
Step One:
Send us pictures of the costume(s) that you wish to consign via email at
info@secondactcostumes.com. We will evaluate each costume, and determine if it has potential to sell. Please ensure that the photos accurately reflect the current state of the costume.
We only accept high-end, competitive level costumes. No recreational or catalogue costumes will be accepted. As an Ontario based company, we currently only accept costumes from within Canada.
Step Two:
Inspect your costume thoroughly. Please check for tears, holes, excessive loss of rhinestones, etc. These costumes will not be accepted for consignment.
All costumes must be cleaned before being sent in. Costumes that require cleaning due to stains, deodorant marks, odours etc., will be charged a cleaning fee of $10.00.
Step Three:
Once your costume has been approved for consignment please complete the attached index card for each costume. Index cards must include all of the following information:
- Your name
- Song title of the costume
- Dance style of the costume
- Age of the dancer when originally worn
- Size of the costume
- Original purchase price
Index cards must be included with the original costume upon delivery.
Please see the attached size guide for determining the approximate size of the costume.
Step Four:
Costumes must be shipped to Second Act directly. Upon receiving the costumes, we will professionally photograph each one and feature it on our website and social platforms. Feel free to also send us action photos of your dancer in the costume for social media purposes. This may spark inspiration, and help the costume sell.
All costumes are listed at 50-75% of the original sale price. Factors that can affect the sale price include style, quality, and condition of the costumes.
Step Five:
Once sold, you will receive 50% of the final sale price (excluding taxes and shipping fees). Our consignment fee is based on the time it takes to inventory, appraise, professionally photograph, promote, store, and provide customer support. We aim to take make the sale process as simple as possible for our consignors.
Second Act Costumes extends a 7 day return policy to our buyers. After the 7 day window has closed, you will be sent money via e-transfer to the email address provided.
